Questions of the Week & Better Homilies!

This area of the pastoral planning web site has several powerful tools to help you start and sustain faith sharing based on the Sunday readings. We also refer to this as Breaking Open the Word - an ancient practice of the catechumenate. We also refer to this by its popular name: The Question of the Week.

We suggest that you initiate the faith sharing each week in your parish by means of two powerful questions: one to peer into the Scriptures and the other to peer into life. These questions are designed to help Catholics and their friends open up the text as well as open up their hearts. From the text, they gain the grace of Scriptural insight. And within their hearts, they discover the Holy Spirit. This dual experience leads inevitably to conversion, to metanoia.
