These Learning Centers have been successfully used in a variety of parishes, with excellent results, because they accommodate a variety of learning styles and offer a unique opportunity for adults and children to learn about the sacraments--together.

Learning Centers help coach parents to share faith with their children in a non-intimidating, educational, and enjoyable way. For the whole community, they offer a way to spend meaningful time with parish children while joining in the process of learning about and living the faith.

Here Doris Murphy offers thirty-seven creative and formative centers for children preparing for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. At each center, children and their families share church teaching, Scripture, prayers, conversation, and a fun activity that reinforces the teaching.

The author also offers eight "gatherings" for the whole community, four for First Reconciliation and four for First Eucharist. These offer children the opportunity to experience the Learning Centers in the company of the wider parish family.
