What does it take to engage people in living faith and in the parish? How can parish leaders plan to deepen the ways in which people grow in relationship with Christ and one another? Knowing and Leading Engagement in Your Parish is based on Gallup research that demonstrates the importance of a deep sense of belonging among parishioners.

This guide details a four-step process for implementing engagement in the parish. Knowing and Leading Engagement is based on the experience of four parishes of varying sizes and demographics, including St. Gerard Majella Parish, the first Catholic parish to intentionally build engagement based on the Gallup research that describes the engagement process.

The authors of this guide include Msgr. Bill Hanson from St. Gerard; Don Garbison from St. Matthew Parish in Charlotte, NC; Stephanie Moore from St. Anne’s in Oakland, CA, and Leisa Anslinger. These four leaders in parishioner engagement have combined their experience to bring together samples and worksheets to help you as you lead your parish to greater engagement.

The authors are founding members of the Catholic Strengths and Engagement Community (CSEC). All proceeds from the sale of this resource will help to fund the CSEC connected community site.
